Admiration Theatre Ensemble Laboratory is a laboratory theatre researching into the art of the actor: to explore, create and improvise, to develop skills and to invent the performances and actors of the future.

The Ensemble Laboratory is created to be a permanent work. To research into the art of the actor on many levels, in different traditions, seeking unusual and alternative objectives. These may vary from contemporary expectations among funders and opinion formers. There is a time for development and exploration and improvisation and a time for training and repetition and fixing work permanently. We maintain at all times a vigilance towards the seriousness and purpose of our calling and our work. We encourage everyone to encourage one another towards the furtherance of these aims.

A true Laboratory controls its working conditions, and puts principles, techniques and objectives to the test; and its higher meaning transforms people from base limitations into the gold of dreams and visions.

The Ensemble is a network of actors and performers who have engaged with our work over the years. The Ensemble is led by John Seaforth.
