Romeo & Juliet Docklands “Excellent. The majority were glad they went. There were many students who would not normally take to a theatre trip. Excellent in its appreciation of who the audience were, it neither confused them nor talked down to them.” “All are strong; the conflation of Capulet and Lady Capulet is innovative and brave, revealing traditionally male and female ‘traits’ combined in one person. What the production shouts loudly is how much can be done with great lighting, few actors, and few props. This is an example of how exciting new ‘takes’ can be, and it deserves a far wider reach than the confines of Docklands.” “There is an eeriness that haunts this physical theatre production. The whole has been stripped bare, but not diluted, and we are treated to a piece that focuses on relationships.” “The company did an admirable job on a budget smaller than the taxi ride from the West End to Isle of Dogs. A worthy effort.” “Thoroughly enjoyed Romeo & Juliet last night, great venue and production. Please add me to your mailing list for future events.” “Romeo and Juliet was excellent” “I loved the performance, it was full of passion! I loved the fact that we were sitting on the same level as the performers, it seemed quite scary and intimidating at first, (especially with the hooded people with masks!) but overall was a great idea as you were in the play with the actors!” “We thoroughly enjoyed Romeo and Juliet last Friday night and this was our first visit to the Space.” “Excellent and well directed” “Very good. The space and the way it was used.” “Excellent production – very powerful and immediate. Juliet was entrancing but all were excellent.”
